Resting upon a sturdy leaf of glass, I place a single frosted butterfly. Its velvety texture is permanently sand etched into its surface creating a nice contrast with the clarity of the surrounding crystal. I create this sculpture entirely by hand using borosilicate crystal because of its superior strength and ability to resist heat. Holder accepts any standard 10 or 12 inch taper candle. The holder’s unique fluted receptacle keeps the candle upright. Candle holder is 9 inches tall with a base diameter of 3.5 inches.
